5 Home Staging Tips that Will Get Your Home Sold in No Time

Stage Your Home Perfectly with These Tips

Spring is the hottest time for real estate, which means the competition will be hot! If you’re selling, you’ll want your home to stand out from the rest. So, I’ve put together my best home staging tips for you to get your home sold in no time. Check them out below!

Boost Curb Appeal

Most people determine whether they want to look inside a home based on their first look at a house. Your home could be beautifully staged on the inside, but if it’s not appealing on the outside, who’s going to go inside?

For great curb appeal, I would suggest giving the siding and walkways a nice power wash, hanging and planting flowers, washing front windows, hanging large house numbers, and painting the porch.

Add Mirrors & Upgrade Rugs

Mirrors not only add style, but they can open up a room and add space. This is a great tip for those who own condos or small homes. It also is a great wall-filler for those who don’t want to display much artwork.

Upgrade your rugs to new and neutral-coloured ones. Make sure they fit the room and all your furniture. And if you don’t have rugs, get them! They really pull a room together.

Find a Balance Between Untouched & Lived-In

When staging, you need a balance. You don’t want your home to look too lived in, but you also don’t want it to look like a complete showroom. You need to discover how you can find a balance between the two. Start by tidying up and hiding clutter. A pro tip: put some of your things in ottomans. These stylish organizers look amazing on the outside and have all your clutter on the inside! Just remember you still need to live in your home, so don’t make it too difficult to get things!

Keep the Walls Neutral

You’ll want to choose sophisticated neutral tones that make your home look put together. I strongly advise against choosing bright colours that are fun and bold. Save that decision for the new homeowners! However, neutral does not mean white – you don’t want your home looking too staged. Try for colours like beige, light grey, or a light mocha.

De-Personalize

The best tip I can give for staging your home is to de-personalize the space. I know it can be hard to take away personal photographs and all the things that make your home your home. However, when others are looking at your place, they want to imagine it as their home, and their taste could be vastly different from yours. You don’t want to lose a buyer because they couldn’t see themselves living in your house.
